Cara Marriott

President

Cara Marriott is the current president of the Board of Directors. Cara’s professional career has been in banking and technology, working for financial institutions that are now part of Bank of America and later as Vice President of International Development for what is now InteractiveCorp. Cara began volunteering for organizations that support children in need at the age of 6 and hasn’t stopped since.

She has served on the boards of several child-focused nonprofit organizations, including as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Village Community School and as President of the Board of Directors of Step Up Women’s Network, which provides after-school arts-based programming and mentorship in underserved areas of NYC. She has served for many years as a pastor at Lower Manhattan Community Church. Cara was introduced to CASA through LMCC’s charitable fund which supports local organizations that seek justice and mercy for the marginalized people of NYC.

Youth Advisory Board

The Youth Advisory Board was formed in 2022 as a reimagined version of the previous Youth Leadership Council. The YAB is led by CASA-NYC's Youth Fellow, a staff member with lived experience in foster care. The YAB meets monthly and provides input on a wide range of program and policy issues, including the implementation of our 2021-2026 strategic plan. YAB youth participate in facilitating training for CASA staff and volunteers, educational presentations for external stakeholders and the general public, and systems advocacy efforts.
