I am so excited to run this half marathon for CASA because it feels like the perfect way to challenge myself while supporting something that has meant so much to me for years. I have been involved with CASA for seven years, starting back in college, and it has shaped how I think about community, advocacy, and showing up for kids who need consistent support. Now, as a member of the Associate Board, I feel even more connected to the mission and motivated to keep finding new ways to make an impact. In these trying times, it feels especially important to put energy toward something hopeful, tangible, and rooted in care, and I am proud to be running for that.
I am thrilled and honored to be running the 2026 NYC Half Marathon in support of CASA-NYC (Court Appointed Special Advocates of NYC) a volunteer-based not-for-profit advocating for children and youth in the NYC foster care system. Every child in our city deserves the chance to thrive and grow in a loving and nurturing home, and I’ve learned about the amazing work that CASA-NYC advocates do to help kids and families navigate the complex foster care system with dignity and respect. The NYC child welfare system is stretched thin, making it difficult for children and families to access the support they need. CASA-NYC volunteers provide individualized support to families over the duration of their case. They are able to really understand each child’s unique needs and circumstances, and can ensure that children, their families and caretakers are connected with the support they need. Please consider supporting CASA-NYC and making a positive impact on the lives of the children of NYC. Thank you!
I am a runner and I have been very fortunate to be able to do this for well over 50 years. Running has been very good to me through-out my life and I have been able to do this all over the world.
When I retired back in 2016 after 30 years of service to the city of Milwaukee, I decided to enter the New York Marathon in 2017. I didn’t make the lottery list which was a disappointment but I was given the option of entrance by way of helping a charity agency with their cause by raising money. So in doing this, I was amazed at the number of charity groups that were listed that wanted people to help with their cause. I found that to be able to run each day can be difficult due to time, family and career responsibilities but it does not compare to the issues that exist with people that have much more physical, emotional, or financial needs each day.
There are so many people out there that need help, CASA-NYC is but one of many agencies that are trying to help. I am thankful to be given the chance to help with your cause and will work hard to achieve my financial goal. That is much more important than running the NYC Half Marathon which is a challenge but there are people that face hardships everyday. Thank you for letting me assist with your cause.
I am so happy to be running the NYC Half Marathon (and my second half marathon) as part of the CASA-NYC team! The importance of having an advocate within the court system is something that I think about everyday as a lawyer. CASA's mission to advocate for New York City children's best interests within the courts and child welfare system is therefore something that is close to my heart. I am honored to have the opportunity to support such an amazing organization by running. Please consider donating to CASA-NYC and making a positive impact on the lives of children in NYC. Thank you for your support!
Running for CASA-NYC this year is incredibly meaningful to me because their mission aligns so closely with my own values around advocacy, stability, and making sure every child feels seen and supported. Last year, I had the honor of running with my sister, and having my entire family be part of the journey made the experience even more special. We are an adopted family, so supporting an organization like CASA that advocates for children and families meant the world to us. The experience not only deepened my connection to the mission but also sparked a true love for running. I’m excited to run again this year to continue supporting CASA’s incredible work, while challenging myself and being part of such a powerful, purpose-driven community. Outside of running, I love staying active, spending time with my cat, and setting goals that feel bigger than me.

I am so excited and honored to be part of the CASA-NYC team running the NYC Half Marathon in support of an incredible organization! I first fundraised for CASA as a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at the University of Vermont, and am deeply passionate about CASA’s mission to advocate for children and youth in foster care or at high risk of foster care placement. CASA-NYC is a volunteer based not-for-profit that served over 1,100 children last year by providing them with a consistent, caring advocate. Every mile I run is dedicated to supporting these children! I am so grateful for any support - please consider donating to CASA-NYC and making a meaningful difference in the lives of New York City’s children!
