Ilana Wiles
Ilana Wiles is a content creator and parenting influencer who lives with her husband and two daughters in NYC. She started the award winning Mommy Shorts blog in 2009, published her first book, “The Mommy Shorts Guide to Remarkably Average Parenting” in 2016 and started a newsletter called Apparently in 2021. She is known mainly for her Instagram presence which has over 725K followers across her three accounts: @mommyshorts, @averageparentproblems and @mommyshortssquad. She also has a large following on Tiktok, Facebook and Twitter. Ilana uses her social media platforms to feature a wide variety of content, from personal stories to causes she cares about. Before she started her blog, Ilana was an SVP Creative Director at FCB, creating ad campaigns for brands like Oreo and Diet Coke. As an ex-creative director, she used her advertising background to pitch brands on sponsored collaborations, becoming one of the first personal media brands to create paid content, which we now know as the influencer economy. In 2017, Ilana was named one of the “Top 10 Parenting Influencers” by Forbes and she was awarded “Mom Blogger of the Year” at the Mom 2.0 Summit.
