Kathy Nissenbaum

Kathy Nissenbaum is the current president of the Board of Directors. Kathy became a CASA-NYC volunteer advocate in 2017 and joined the CASA-NYC board in 2018. She served as board secretary and strategic planning co-chair before becoming board chair in 2024. Kathy was formerly a Vice President in the Principal Investment Area at Goldman Sachs, where she worked for 14 years. She also served as a volunteer with GallopNYC, an organization that uses therapeutic horsemanship to help riders with disabilities. Kathy has lived in Brooklyn, NY since 1991 and raised her two children here. Kathy served as a volunteer at her children’s school, The Berkeley Carroll School. As a CASA-NYC volunteer for five years, Kathy has learned a great deal about children and families involved in the child welfare system, and has taken courses to further understand the broader range of services and programming available for children and families in New York City.
