CASA-NYC’s 40th Anniversary Spring Benefit, 40 Years of Heroes took place on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Tribeca 360 in New York.

After a bustling cocktail hour brimming with signature cocktails and small dinner plates, the evening’s program kicked off with a welcome and introductions by Academy Award and Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan. Executive Director Kerry Moles then highlighted CASA-NYC’s work over the past four decades, thanking the many altruistic volunteers who have advocated for the well-being of children and youth in foster year. Guests were treated to a celebrity video tribute to our honorees, featuring Hoda Kotb, Ice-T and Andy Cohen.

Last year’s honoree, television executive Scott Koondel, who was in NYC foster care as a child, shared his great admiration for this year’s honorees and presented the CASA Hero Award to sisters Kate and Linda Yaccarino.  Linda is the Chairman of Advertising and Client Partnerships at NBCUniversal and is an avid supporter of children’s causes including CASA-NYC.   Kate is a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, a long-term volunteer Advocate for CASA-NYC, and recent addition to CASA-NYC’s board of directors.  Congratulations to this year’s incredible honorees!

Actors Rose Byrne (Instant Family, Damages) and her husband Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire and Will & Grace) introduced a special 40th anniversary film featuring CASA volunteers and former foster youth.  Charles Antin presented a live auction featuring several luxury experience packages and led an energetic paddle raise before the music of Dan Guerra, former Associate Board member and former foster youth, resumed.
